Former President Daniel Moi is alive and well — Family spokesperson

The family spokesperson of the retired President Daniel arap Moi, Mr Lee Njiru has reassured the public that the octogenarian patriot is alive and well after increase negative reports online that mzee’s health is in danger.

Njiru said the family is not pleased by the scare rumours being peddled by a section of Kenyans online.

“The true position is that Mzee Moi is in hospital being attended to by a professional medical team led by his personal physician Dr David Silverstein. He is alert and conscious of his surroundings,” reads the statement to newsrooms.

However, the family also thanked all Kenyans of goodwill who have been wishing the former Head of State quick recovery.

“The family is extremely thankful and grateful to all Kenyans and well-wishers from abroad for their prayers and speedy recovery messages,” Mr Njiru said.

Finally, Njiru confirmed that indeed Moi was at the Nairobi Hospital twice in two weeks but it just for a routine health examination.

 

 

“It is true [that] Mzee Moi went to Nairobi Hospital today (Monday) but it [was for] a routine medical check-up.”

“It is prudent and advisable that everybody should go for a medical check-up, so Mzee Moi went for a medical check-up,” he added,” added Njiru.
