Uhuru approves 3 key directives in Special Cabinet meeting, today

President Uhuru Kenyatta chaired a Special Cabinet meeting on Thursday, September 12 where he approved 3 key issues with his Deputy William Ruto in attendance.

The meeting deliberated on child adoption by foreigners, Sh6.9 billion development fund, and an upcoming summit in Nairobi.

From the meeting, the 3 issues were approved.

  1. Kenya to ban the adoption of Kenyan children by foreign nationals. The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection direct to formulate a new policy that will regulate children adoption by foreigners.

2. The Cabinet approved Sh6.9 billion that will go to the development of an Inland Container Depot, Railway Marshalling Yard, Logistic Zone to support Standard Guage Railway phase 2A in Naivasha.

3. Approval of the upcoming Nairobi Summit of the 25th International Conference on Population and Development. It will begin from 12th to 14th November. Over 6,000 delegates from 179 countries will attend.
