As an older adult, the two things that may have brought the greatest joy—children and career may no longer be as prevalent in your everyday life. Personal relationships often take on a greater significance, and sex can be an important way of connecting.
Since you are in a lonely nest phase, that doesn’t mean that life has to be boring, you can always spice it up by doing some of the things that bring some sparks into life.
Sex has the power to:
- Improve mental and physical health. Sex can help burn fat, cause the brain to release endorphins, and drastically reduce anxiety.
Endorphins have the capability of reducing pain and leave someone feeling more relaxed.

- Increase lifespan. Through its health-improving benefits, a good sex life can add years to your life.
Your life span will only increase if you are both happy. research shows that after sex the feel-good hormone, oxytocin is released into the body. giving you the happy feeling hence increasing your life span.
- Solidify relationships. Sex is a chance to express the closeness of your deepest relationship.
Through sex, people get to form bonds and attachment that’s why it’s said whenever you have sex with someone you get a piece of them.
