UK issues travel advisory to Tanzania over suspected Ebola death

The United Kingdom (UK) has issued a travel advisory to her citizens planning to visit Tanzania over suspected Ebola outbreak.

According to the UK, the advisory was issued after it appears probably a person died of Ebola in Dar es Salaam in September.

On September, 27, the United States of Americaย  State Department also posted a travel advisory to Tanzania on their official website.

The Wolrd Health Organisation (WHO) has also previously alleged that they heard of one Ebola death in Dar es Salaam but the Tanzanian authorities denied them comprehensive details.

“Despite several requests, WHO did not receive further details of any of these cases from Tanzanian authorities.”

“The limited available official information from Tanzanian authorities represents a challenge for assessing the risk posed by this event,” added WHO.

On September 14, Tanzania stated that they had not confirmed any Ebola cases in the country.
