Panic at Starehe Girls as unknown disease strikes
Panic has gripped Starehe Girls Center in Kiambu county after an unknown disease striked and left 52 students isolated.
Education ministry officials and Starehe heads are currently in a crisis meeting to access the situation.
The media has not been allowed inside the school compound as they monitor the situation from the gate.
Students at the institution have been released over a yet-to-be-determined disease at the school.
The school has been closed and will reopen on Monday.
The affectedย girls had a high pitch cough, sneezedย and had a low-grade fever.
Their samples have been taken to (KEMRI)Kenya Medical Research Institute (Kemri)ย and the Centre for Disease Control for analysis.
