Chilling details behind the death of Court of Appeal Judge Otieno Odek

Just a day after Court of Appeal Judge James Otieno Odek was found dead in a Kisumu house, chilling details have emerged regarding his death.

According to the police report, the celebrated jurist was found naked facing up with a blanket covering up to his chest. Three sex-enhancing tablets in a packet of six were also recovered at the scene.

The 53-year-old jurist had blood oozing from his left ear, hand and private parts.

The police also reported that they had to break the door to gain access into the room since the doors were locked from inside confirmed Nyanza regional police commander Vincent Makokha.

“When the driver came to pick him [in the morning] he found the door locked. He reported this at the Kisumu Central police station. The police had to break the door,” Kisumu chief magistrate Ng’arng’ar said.

However, the police are yet to establish whether it was the sex-enhancing drugs that killed the jurist or its a case of foul play.

The body was taken to Aga Khan Hospital mortuary Kisumu for a postmortem before being airlifted to the Lee Funeral Home Nairobi.
