Migori, Kisii and Homa Bay on CS George Magoha’s radar as KCPE begins

Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has claimed that Migori county is the epicentre of exam cheating this year as it was in 2019, he affirmed that his ministry is on top of things to ensure no cheating happens in the region.

Magoha further stated that apart from Migori, Kisii and Homa Bay are also centres that they will watch keenly.

“The epicentre (of cheating) is in Migori going by last year, some people will be annoyed that I am saying this again but thats my job. Migori coming down to Kisii and Homa Bay,” said Magoha.

However, Magoha also said, some areas in North Eastern Kenya will also be on their radar.

“I will still say it again going by last year exams we also have problems in Mandera, Garissa and Wajir,” added Magoha.

The CS also urged parents to give their children ample time to sit the exams and also affirmed that the their close monitoring of ‘cheating’ hotspots is not meant to scare the students.

“Irrespective of what other people are saying I will want to urge the parents to allow their children to do the exams in peace,” he added.

“For the rest of the country, we are very happy to say we have not seen anything to worry about but I can assure you in those areas we are not going to scare the children but if you try cheating we shall catch you.”
