Mariga rejected by IEBC

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has rejected the candidature of Jubilee’s Mcdonald Mariga.

In their statement, IEBC said Mariga’s name is not in the voter’s roll of Kibra constituency.

The former footballer-cum-politician said he is a registered voter and he will not be deterred as he awaits the verdict.

“It is sad because I am a registered voter yet they can’t find me in the register. We will wait for the verdict,” said Mariga.

However, former Kakamega senator Bonny Khalwale has said they will seek for an appeal in the next seven days to ensure their candidate is not barred.

“Our campaign is continuing, the technical bench of Jubilee will exploit the 7 days period so that when you go to the polling station you don’t miss the name of Mariga,” said Khalwale.

Mariga was geared to face ODM’s Benard Imran Okoth, ANC’s Eliud Owallo and most recently Wipers Jackson Makini who is also known as CMB Prezzo
