Grief has engulfed the village of Mugai in Malava constituency after a 45-year-old woman committed suicide.
The deceased, Hannah Mukangai reportedly took poison after her child stole her Sh500. According to Hannah’s husband Mulunda Mukangai even after getting the money which was lost, his wife’s angered did not subside.
Mulanda said, his wife rushed to the nearby shopping centre, bought poison and drunk it, claiming he was fed up with the behaviours of their children.
“We were also shocked when one of his children told us that their mother had taken poison. When we asked why she took such a drastic measure she told has his children have been a headache on her and her husband doesn’t even concern himself,” said one of the villagers.
The late Hannah has left behind three children.
