Khaligraph Jones crowned Africa’s Hip hop King

Kenya’s hard-hitting rapper Khaligraph Jones won the best Hip Hop act in the just concluded Sound City MVP Awards, held in Eko Convention Centre Lagos, Nigeria.

Papa Jones as he is popularly known emerged winner beating big names including fellow Kenyan artiste Nyashinski.

Among other artistes, he flopped in order to walk away with bragging rights include; BlaqBonez (NG), Falz (NG), Kwesta (SA), Medikal (GH), Sarkodie (GH), Reminisce (NG), Ricky Rick (SA) and Zakwe (SA).

The African artiste of the year award went to celebrated Nigerian singer Burna Boy. The Best New MVP award went to Rema (Nigeria), while the Best Female MVP award went to Teni from Nigeria.

Celebrated African Giant, Burna Boy walked away with the Best male MVP.

Other notable acts who won in various categories include;

Baby hitmaker JoeBoy won the Best pop award beating our very own Otile Brown.

DJ Spinall of Nigeria won the African DJ of the year beating our very own DJ Creme De La Crรจme.

Tiwa Savage walked away with the video of the year.

Davido scooped the Digital artist of the year.

While Rexxie took home the bragging rights of the African producer of the year.
