KCCA, Police launch probe on Silverstone Air

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCCA) and the Kenya police have launched a probe on Silverstone Air after one of their air plan from Lodwar lost a wheel mid-air and made an emergency landing in Eldoret.

The aircraft attracted a social media debate after one of its tyres dropped mid-air with four passengers on board and a crew of five.

Luckily non of the occupants in the aircraft was injured as all of them were safely evacuated.

Some of the passengers who looked to be in a panic said they had been alerted about the emergency landing.

Silverstone Air confirmed the unfortunate incident on an official statement.

“The captain of the flight decided to divert to Eldoret International Airport in the interests of the continued safety of the passengers and the crew. This was a precautionary action and the aircraft landed safely,” the airline’s management said.
