The station is the latest one in a string of new FM stations in the coastal city. The first daughter also gave a maiden interview at the radio station, where she articulated matters relating to the youth.
Acknowledging that she is a millennial and not Gen Z, Ms Ruto maintained that it is her life’s purpose to help Kenyan youth lead better lives.
“I earlier worked in the private sector and was very comfortable. I didn’t know if I would get into this space. But 2 years ago, I became interested in young people and matters affecting them,” said Charlene.
Charlene’s interview was in line with her activities in Mombasa where she met and engaged with young entrepreneurs in the area.
