Baking a cake is my reason to please and to be creative.
Here’s the recipe:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
1.Preheat kitchen appliance to 350 degrees F. Line a ceramic baking dish with parchment paper and spray sides and bottom.
2.Mix flour, sugar, chocolate,leavening, bicarbonate and salt in bowl of stand mixer.
3.Add in egg, milk, oil, and vanilla and blend on mix on low until incorporated. Once mixed increase speed to medium and blend for two minutes.
4.Add in boiling water and gently stir-batter are terribly skinny
5.Pour batter into prepared dish. Bake for 35-40 minutes.
6.Cool for ten minutes in pan, then continue cooling on a rack till room temperature.
7.While cake is cooling build the icing.
8.In a medium microwave-safe bowl, heat the chocolate chips in the microwave at 50% power in 30-seconds increments, stirring after each heating, until they are fully melted.
9.Add soured cream and vanilla and stir by hand till icing is well combined and fluffier.
10.Spread over cooled cake.
