Nyong’o who is not new to the controversy was clad in a blue and white floral skirt.

However a section of the online community could not keep mum over the matter, instead taking it to twitter to critic the Governor’s son.

In a retaliatory fashion Nyong’o hit back at his haters, stating that a lot of strides have so far been made in relation to gender clothing, and should, therefore, be considered a thing of the past.

“As we enter a new decade…Please just leave your imbecilic ideas of gender clothing and your obsession with this myth called “gender” behind. Just leave it. Far away. Live your life. And most importantly practice silence.” he said.

This is not the first time he has cross-dressed. During the 10th anniversary of Blankets & Wine in October 2018, Junior wore a maxi dress and defended it as liberal and looking good while in other occasions, he has been spotted posting half-naked photos with flowers pinned on his hair and is often unbothered by haters and naysayers.

Junior Nyong’o made his debut to the public limelight when he appeared in Ellen DeGeneres’ star-studded selfie during the 2014 Oscar Awards in Hollywood, Los Angeles. His sister Lupita Nyong’o won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar in Steve McQueen’s film, 12 Years a Slave, which won the Best Picture award.
