 DCI sleuths thwart Barclays Bank heist in Ruiru

The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) detectives have arrested four men who had planned to steal money from Barclays Bank ATM in Ruiru, Kiambu county.

The four men were Hillary Ng’eno of KK Security, Jared Nyang’au of G4S, Douglas Momanyi a bodaboda rider and Jacob Barasa.

According to DCI boss George Kinoti, the four suspects were caught in the act, Kinoti also revealed that they managed to recover a mobile phone that was used by the suspects to contact the source.

“Four suspects were last night arrested by DCI  Ruiru detectives after their attempt to steal from Barclays Bank ATM at Ruiru was neutralized. A mobile phone they were using to make contact to a source, a nylon sack they were using to load the money and a motorcycle,” tweeted Kinoti.

The four suspects are currently under police custody.
