Not all days are rosy, there are days that you wake up feeling like you can conquer the whole world while on others, you don’t want to get out of bed or see anyone. The truth is, it’s okay to feel all that but the question is, how do you get back to your highs from the low days?

Researchers say that happiness is a state of mind. It is not a destination to reach. It is the way of life. No matter what hardships we face, we can choose to be happy. Though I read a lot about happiness, I still face all the emotions in my life.

We should try to borrow a leaf from children when kids do not get something, they cry and whine but move on to play happily as they see something else more exciting or interesting. It is good to acknowledge the situation, feel the pain and then move on.

Here are 3 simple ways to feel better instantly in any given situation, follow these and hope you find them useful.

Take a walk

Whenever you are feeling low, it is important to go out and take a walk. There is something to breathing in the fresh air and taking a walk outside. This will help you to relax and clear your mind and think straight.

Take time to enjoy Mother Nature’s bounty. Colourful flowers, tree-lined streets, green grass or fall foliage, soaking ourselves in nature is an instant mood uplifter.

Exercise.

When you are feeling low, you can try to work out. Through exercises, you can let go of all the negative emotions that are making you feel low. When you work out hormone endorphins, which is a feel-good hormone is released.

Instead of sinking into the couch and binge-watching Netflix after a long day, work out for at least 20 minutes. You stress levels will reduce and you can end your crappy day in a better mood.

Gratitude

We all have something to be grateful for even on the worst of days.

To feel better instantly, make a list of things that you are grateful for. As you write the list you will notice how blessed you are to have the list of things to be grateful for.

As we regularly practise gratitude, we feel the abundance around us. We realize how much we ignore and take things for granted. This will lift you and help you realize that you have some awesome memories.
