2 favours NTV has offered Kriss Darling as he joins politics

Flamboyant reggae DJ and MC Christone Odhiambo Awino alias Kriss Darling is no longer an employee of NTV-Kenya after the media outlet fired him on September 6th, reports Nairobi News.

Confirming the report NTV’s head of production Mr Justus Tharao said Kriss’s entry into politics informed the decision since his move contravenes their work policy.

“As per our editorial policy, Kriss left us with no way out but to end our contract with him as the host of Jam Rock Reggae show,” said Tharao.

“However this decision was mutual between both parties. We wish him well in his future endeavours,’ he added.

Despite the media, house parting ways with the entertainer-cum-politician, they have offered him two more favours as he joins the murky political waters.

According to Tharao, Kriss will have an opportunity to enjoy the last moments on the golden screen with his fans.

“He will, however, host two more shows to bid the fans bye,” said Tharao.

On top of the two shows, NTV also confirmed that they will still honour their contract with Kriss’s reggae unit The Dohty Family as he transition.

Kriss will face his first real litmus test into politics on Saturday, September 7th as ODM will be conducting party primaries in Kibra to find the candidate who will raise their flag in the upcoming by-election.
